Korean auteur Lee Myung-se takes visual storytelling to new levels in DUELIST, a tense, beautiful story of crime, intrigue, and star-crossed love. As beautiful, yet deadly, detective Namsoon begins to close in on a counterfeit ring, she encounters a masked warrior whom she calls Sad Eyes. Believing that Sad Eyes holds the key to this mystery, Namsoon dons her own disguise, and tracks her enigmatic adversary to the Minister of Defence’s home, and up through the highest corridors of power.

    If you want to see real sword fights you may be disappointed, this movie is nothing like “the house of the flying…” and others of that kind. This is a very interesting movie, with an amazing cinematography, specially the scenes where the two main caracters duel, it’s a mix of dancing with fighting, but in a good way, it’s really well done. I highly recommend it!

    Wow. I own this movie on DVD. It is sad, and enigmatic, and funny and the cinematography is like a piece of art. I really recommend this, especially if you’re a fan of Wuxia-films (like “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” or “Hero”).
